Amy Wickliffe - Principal

Amy D. Wickliffe brings ten years of political, government and lobbying experience to McCarthy Strategic Solutions. She began her career in politics working for the Fletcher for Congress 2002 campaign.  Immediately following this successful election, she joined the Fletcher for Governor Campaign in 2003 as Deputy Finance Director where she was responsible for coordinating fundraising events for the campaign, raising nearly $7 million in just eighteen months.  

After Fletcher’s victory in November 2003, Wickliffe assumed the role of Executive Director for the Fletcher Inaugural Committee, and then began work for the Commonwealth of Kentucky as Chief of Staff to the First Lady.  As Chief of Staff, she served as a personal aide to First Lady Glenna Fletcher coordinating travel, scheduling, public relations and legislative activity for the office. She also oversaw the operations of the Special Projects Office which coordinated all Kentucky Derby festivities hosted on the Capitol campus and many other events hosted at The Governor’s Mansion. Wickliffe also worked closely with Mrs. Fletcher to establish the Governor’s Mansion Preservation Foundation in 2005.  

Wickliffe served as Finance Director for Governor Ernie Fletcher’s re-election campaign in 2007 where she managed all fundraising activities for the campaign raising $7.5 million.  In 2009, Wickliffe was accepted into the U.S. Peace Corps where she completed training for the elementary education teaching program in Namibia, Africa.  Most recently, Wickliffe established a political fundraising consulting company to assist candidates with fundraising events, direct mail, online solicitation, and donor communication.  To date, she has coordinated fundraising efforts for Williams-Farmer 2011, the Republican Party of Kentucky and Congressman Brett Guthrie.

Wickliffe graduated from Transylvania University with a B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration at Midway College.  She lives in Lexington.
